Impending Issuance of License Amendment Request for South Texas Project, Units 1 and 2    Good Afternoon, Mr. Free,  This email is to inform you of the impending issuance of license amendments for South Texas Project Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2. The amendments will revise the technical specifications to allow more time and, thus, more operability flexibility if one of the reactor trip breakers is out of service for maintenance or testing. The staff has completed its review and has found the request meets all regulatory requirements. The background and document references are below. Please let me know if the State of Texas has any comments or would like additional information on this action. We'd like to issue by 3/31, but it's more likely that it will be issued in early April. Thanks, and have a good day. Lisa Regner  By application dated January 6, 2014 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML14035A075), as supplemented by letters dated June 9, December 4, and December 17, 2014 (ADAMS Accession No. ML14184B363, ML14365A040, and ML15008A026, respectively), STP Nuclear Operating Company, requested changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) for South Texas Project (STP), Units 1 and 2. Please refer to the Federal Register Notice dated August 5, 2014, 79 FR 45481, for more details.
