Dear Mr. Lear:

This letter is in response to your February 17, 1976 re-quest for information concerning Appendix I of 10 CFR 50. In order to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 50.34a, we plan to submit suf-ficient information for an evaluation of the means employed for keeping levels of radioactivity in effluents to unrestricted areas as 'low as practicable. The remainder will be submitted by October 1, 1976.

We also plan to submit revised Technical Specifications.

However, these revisions will be deferred'ending further guidance from you as stated in your letter.

We will be available at your convenience to meet with you to discuss the submittal of data and methods of evaluation as requested by your letter.

Very truly yours,
