This letter confirms a Category 3 public meeting which has been scheduled for April 23, 2009, at 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (CST). The enclosed meeting notice provides additional details. The

purpose of the meeting is to provide opportunities to discuss the annual assessment of River

Bend Station with the public. The NRC will be available to ensure the public's issues and

concerns are understood and considered.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be

PURPOSE: The purpose of the meeting/open house session is to provide opportunities to discuss the annual assessment of River Bend

Station with the public. The NRC's Policy Statement, "Enhancing

Public Participation in NRC Meetings," effective May 28, 2002, applies to this meeting. The policy statement may be found on the

NRC Web site, www.nrc.gov. The NRC provides reasonable accommodation to participate where appropriate. If you need
