On December 17, 2012, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed a Triennial Fire Protection Inspection at your Palisades Nuclear Plant. The enclosed inspection report documents the inspection results, which were discussed on November 9, 2012 and December 17, 2012, with you and other members of your staff. The inspection examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to your preparedness to handle large fires or explosions by verifying you continue to meet the requirements of your B.5.b license condition and Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 50.54 (hh)(2). The inspectors reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel. Based on the results of this inspection, one NRC-identified finding of very low safety significance was identified. The finding did not involve a violation of NRC requirements.
