By letter dated May 31, 2012, ZionSolutions submitted an application for a license amendment for Zion Nuclear Power Station Units 1 and 2. The licensee requested approval of methods of analysis, use of the upgraded fuel handling building crane system as a single-failure proof crane, and a NUREG 0612 compliant heavy loads handling program. Please provide a safety evaluation of the proposal. Mr. Daniel Huang has previously met with the licensee on this issue and a complete copy of the application, including attachments, has been provided in hard and electronic copy to him. The licensee has requested approval by the end of the year so we would like the acceptance review completed by the end of June and requests for additional information, if needed, by the end of September. | |||
