REQUEST FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ON AMENDMENT AND EXEMPTION REQUEST FOR THE INDEPENDENT SPENT FUEL STORAGE INSTALLATION PHYSICAL SECURITY PLAN FOR THE ZION NUCLEAR POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 (TAC NOS. J00436 AND J00437)
By letter dated June 18, 2012, ZionSolutions submitted a request for a proposed license amendment consisting of (1) a revision to the Zion Nuclear Power Station (ZNPS) Physical Security Plan (PSP) including a Transfer Plan, (2) a new stand alone ZNPS Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) PSP, and (3) a revision to License Condition 2.C(6) for Zion Nuclear Power Station Units 1 and 2. An exemption request was also submitted to apply the existing exemptions to ISFSI security operations. Please review the proposed amendment, PSP, and exemptions and provide a Safety Evaluation for the request. The licensee has requested approval of the request by December 2012. A copy of the non-safeguards portion of the request is enclosed. The safeguards portion of the request will be provided to the reviewer when their name is provided to the contact listed below.
