RE: Request for a list of documentation to determine there are no CASS ASME III Class 1 valve less than four inches installed at Columbia Hello Arthur, The documents reviewed to determine if there are any CASS valves less than 4 inches installed at Columbia were: system flow diagrams for ASME III Class 1, valve drawings, system design specifications, purchasing requirements, and valve design specifications. This review did not identify any CASS valves less than 4 inches installed at Columbia.

The original LRA assumed that there were ASME III Class 1 CASS valves less than 4 inches because the valve design specification allowed the use of CASS valves as an alternate.

To determine the number of installed ASME III Class 1 CASS valves less than 4 inches at Columbia , the system flow diagrams were reviewed for ASME III Class 1 lines that had valves less than 4 inches . Valve drawings or purchasing requirements were reviewed for these valves to determine the material. No ASME III Class 1 CASS valves less than 4 inches were identified.

Action Request 234294 Assignment 17 will revise the valve Design Specification to only allow the future use of CASS valves as an alternate at Columbia with certain requirements associated with License Renewal, such as a new Aging Management Program per NUREG 1801 (GALL).
