In its letter, PPL transmitted the SSES1 Steam Dryer Report for its evaluation of steam dryer performance based on the Main Steam Line Strain Gauge data collected at 3.5% power ascension step (110% of CLTP), as required by the License Condition 2.C.(36)(a)(3) to NRC. | ||
Based on NRC | Based on NRC staffs review of the SSES1 summary reports at 107% and 110.5% power, the staff finds it acceptable for SSES1 to ascend to the next and final plateau of the full EPU (3952 MWth) power level. The staff accepts the licensees conclusion that there is adequate margin in the dryer projected alternating stress at EPU, compared to the allowable value of 13600 psi. | ||

- Duane, The purpose of this message is to inform you that the NRC staff has completed its review of the submitted information provided by PPL dated May 31, 2010. In its letter, PPL transmitted the SSES1 Steam Dryer Report for its evaluation of steam dryer performance based on the Main Steam Line Strain Gauge data collected at 3.5% power ascension step (110% of CLTP), as required by the License Condition 2.C.(36)(a)(3) to NRC.
Based on NRC staffs review of the SSES1 summary reports at 107% and 110.5% power, the staff finds it acceptable for SSES1 to ascend to the next and final plateau of the full EPU (3952 MWth) power level.
