I object to the proposal for a license amendment for the San Onofre Nuclear Plant. Since this is an older nuclear plant and there have been several unexpected leakages and worrisome problems about the operation of this plant, public safety demands that all operational issues receive maximum scrutiny before permitting this plan to be brought back on line. I believe a truncated or abbreviated process to allow the plant to restart is definitely undesirable and a threat to the well-being of the nearby population.

Re: Proposed License Amendment for San Onofre Nuclear Plant

Dear Chief Bladey:

I object to the proposal for a license amendment for the San Onofre Nuclear Plant. Since this is an older nuclear plant and there have been several unexpected leakages and worrisome problems about the operation of this plant, public safety demands that all operational issues receive maximum scrutiny before permitting this plan to be brought back on line. I believe a truncated or abbreviated process to allow the plant to restart is definitely undesirable and a threat to the well-being of the nearby population.
