(Entergy), held a telephone conference call on October 11, 2012, to discuss information pertaining to the NRC staff's ongoing review of the application for renewal of the operating licenses for Indian Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 2 and 3 (IP2 and IP3). During the call, Entergy informed the NRC staff that it had recently identified piping that could be considered underground piping according to the definition in the Generic Aging Lessons Learned Report. The piping at issue is approximately 35 feet of each of the two service water headers (total of approximately 70 feet), and short sections of fuel oil piping, each located in a vault. Entergy intends to submit a letter clarifying the status of the piping and any associated impacts to the IP2 and IP31icense renewal application.
