I am writing this letter to express our appreciation for the support and collaboration provided by John Simmons. Mr. Simmons provided presentation slides and technical expertise to support the 5th NRC Vendor Oversight Workshop on June 23, 2016, in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Simmons' contribution in the presentation and discussion titled, "Implementing Dedication Guidance with Panel Discussion," was greatly appreciated by myself and the NRC staff. The presentation was effective and informative. Mr. Simmons then engaged the audience in a lively and informative discussion of a variety of complex issues. The session highlighted some of the challenges that lie ahead for the nuclear industry and vendor oversight.
