Since these studs were the only items surveilled, this report is intended to fulfill both requirements.

The inspection was done per Specifi-cations 4.4.10.l.a and b.and Table 4.4"6 Item 4.3.As described above, the corrosion was surface type due to boric acid attack.The deepest indication cn load bearing portions of the stud was, 1/16 inch (on a l~g inch stud).This was the first reportable occurrence of this type at St.Lucie Unit', l.(335-77-21)
 
Cause Descri tion (Continued) had attacked the carbon steel studs, causing surface corrosion judged to be unacceptable.
