ME6818 record of Duane Arnold RAI Clarification Call - Wednesday, February 22, 2012 2:15 PM-3:15 PM ET The purpose of the meeting was to clarify selected items from a lists provided in a Request for Additional Information (RAI) email message dated January 31, 2012 (ADAMS Accession No. ML12031A112).
Attending the 2/22/2012 call for the NRC were:
Name NRC/NRR affiliation Karl Feintuch DORL/LPL3-1 Alayna Pearson DRA/AFPB Dan ONeal DRA/APLA Stephen Dinsmore DRA/APLA Jay Robinson DRA/AFPB Paul Lain DRA/AFPB Harry Barrett DRA/AFPB Bernard Litkett DRA/AFPB Duane Arnold will provide a corresponding list of its attendees.
The discussions centered on clarifying the needed information for specific RAI items and asking (by DAEC staff) for selected RAI item responses to be scheduled for 90 days, based on the planned scope of DAEC responses.
The NRC staff clarified:
Fire Protection RAI 9 PRA RAI 2 PRA RAI 3 PRA RAI 12 PRA RAI 36 PRA RAI 60 Further, the NRC staff accepted the DAEC estimate that the following RAI items needed to be scheduled for 90 days. These items were originally scheduled for 60 days. Items PRA RAI 12 and 60 are in both the lists above and below.
Monitoring Program RAI 1 Safe Shutdown Analysis RAI 6 Safe Shutdown Analysis RAI 7 PRA RAI 6 PRA RAI 12 PRA RAI 28 PRA RAI 35 PRA RAI 38 PRA RAI 43 PRA RAI 50 PRA RAI 60 PRA RAI 61 Fire Modeling RAI 1 Fire Modeling RAI 2 Radioactive Release RAI 1 Radioactive Release RAI 2 Radioactive Release RAI 3 Fire Protection RAI 9 In a follow-up exchange of information between Karl Feintuch (NRC) and Browning and Swenzinski of Duane Arnold, we discussed a means of individualizing the delivery schedule of information to when it would be ready for transmittal and thus enable review work to start at the earliest practical time. For such scheduling purposes an itemized schedule of individual responses will be compiled. As an estimate, 100% of the RAI response should be available for review within May 2012, considering both the 60 and 90 day planning schedules.
