Dear Mr. Ford:

By letter dated December 17, 2015, Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (Entergy) submitted, for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff review and approval, decommissioning funding plan updates (DFP Updates) for the independent spent fuel storage installations (ISFSIs) at Big Rock Point, Indian Point Nuclear Generating Stations Units 1, 2, and 3 (Indian Point 1, 2, and 3), Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station (Pilgrim), Palisades Nuclear Plant (Palisades), James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant (FitzPatrick), and Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station (Vermont Yankee)

(Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML15351A524). The NRC staff reviewed Entergy's DFP updates for each ISFSI and believes Entergy's submittal was not sufficient to meet the intent of the requirement in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 72.30(c). Specifically, the DFP updates do not provide sufficient information to allow the NRC to determine that the events listed in 10 CFR 72.30(c)(1)

-five (45) working day of the date of this letter
