NRC NEWS U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION Office of Public Affairs Telephone: 301/415-8200 Washington, D.C. 20555-0001 E-mail: opa@nrc.gov Web Site: http://www.nrc.gov/OPA No.05-084 May 25, 2005 NRC ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON REACTOR SAFEGUARDS TO MEET JUNE 1-3 IN ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND The Nuclear Regulatory Commissions Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards will hold a public meeting June 1-3 in Rockville, Md., to discuss, among other items, the interim review of the license renewal application for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant, in Wisconsin, and the draft Safety Evaluation Report related to the Grand Gulf Early Site Permit Application. It will also cover nuclear plant fire protection matters and policy issues related to new plant licensing.

The meeting, to be held in Room T-2B3 of the agencys Two White Flint North building, at 11545 Rockville Pike, will run from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday. A complete agenda is available on the NRCs Web site at:
