PUBLIC MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT

Title:

Environmental Scoping Meeting Related to the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant Subsequent License Renewal Application Date(s) and Time(s): March 22, 2023, 06:00 PM to 08:00 PM CT Location: Monticello Community Center 505 Walnut St Monticello, MN Category: This is a Comment-Gathering Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is for NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to receive comments from participants on specific NRC decisions and actions to ensure that NRC staff understands their views and concerns.

Purpose:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will conduct a scoping process to gather information necessary to prepare an environmental impact statement to evaluate the environmental impacts for the potential subsequent license renewal of the operating license for Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant, Unit 1 (Monticello). The NRC is seeking stakeholder input on this action and has scheduled a public scoping meeting that will take place in Monticello, MN.

NRC Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket No: 05000263 Comments: Open house: The meeting will begin at 6:00PM CT. It will be preceded by an open house session to begin at 5:00PM, for members of the public to converse informally with NRC staff. Matters related to participation in any hearing are outside the scope of matters to be discussed at this public meeting. While comments will be accepted during the court reporter transcribed meeting, comments will not be accepted during the open house session.

The NRC provides reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities where appropriate.
