SUMMARY

OF MARCH 6, 2006, MEETING TO DISCUSS FULL-SCOPE APPLICATION OF ALTERNATIVE SOURCE TERM (AST) METHODOLOGY On March 6, 2006, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff met with Nuclear Management Company (the licensee) staff to discuss its full-scope application of AST methodology for the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant. The licensee provided details regarding the application to aid the staff in its technical review.

The meeting adjourned with three action items. NRC staff requested, and the licensee agreed to provide, the following information: 1) hourly meteorological data measured at the 100 meter level from 1998 through 2002; 2) supporting calculations for the standby liquid control system maintaining suppression pool pH level; and 3) additional information on the impact of removing from technical specifications the radiation monitor actuation of the control room emergency filtration system.

The enclosure is a list of the attendees and meeting agenda. Handouts were provided by the licensee during the meeting and are available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (see ADAMS Accession No. ML060670337).
