FORTHCOMING MEETING WITH NORTHERN STATES POWER COMPANY TO DISCUSS ISSUES FOR A FUTURE EXTENDED POWER UPRATE AMENDMENT AT MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT, UNIT NO. 1 (TAC NO. MD9305)

DATE & TIME: Wednesday, October 15, 2008 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon LOCATION: U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Two White Flint North Room T-9 F5 11545 Rockville Pike Rockville, MD 20852 PURPOSE: The licensee requested this pre-application meeting to discuss with the NRC staff its proposed approach to address the 3 issues (steam dryer structural integrity, instrument setpoint methodology, and equipment qualification) set forth in the June 26, 2008, letter to the licensee (Accession No. ML081770338). The licensee also proposed to give an update regarding grid stability analysis. The enclosed tentative agenda outlines the issues.

CATEGORY: This is a Category 1 Meeting. The public is invited to observe this meeting and will have one or more opportunities to communicate with the NRC after the business portion, but before the meeting is adjourned.

Certain portions of this meeting will be closed to the public because proprietary information will be discussed.
