Docket Nos. 50-269-SLR-2, 50-270-SLR-2, 50-287-SLR-2 NRC STAFFS STATUS REPORT REGARDING CONSULTATIONS CONCERNING THE WITHHOLDING OF NONPUBLIC INFORMATION FROM DISCLOSURE In accordance with the Atomic Safety and Licensing Boards (Licensing Board) direction,1 the NRC Staff (Staff) is providing an update of its consultations with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regarding the withholding of certain information from public disclosure in this proceeding. The NRC Staff wishes to inform you that the Staff conferred with FERC on Thursday, August 1, 2024, and Friday, August 2, 2024. Consultation with FERC is ongoing, and the Staff expects to receive further information by the middle of next week.
Accordingly, the Staff will provide another status update to the Licensing Board by Thursday, August 8, 2024.
The NRC Staff understands that potentially needing to treat information as nonpublic creates additional burdens on the Licensing Board and parties. The NRC Staff appreciates the Licensing Boards understanding of the sensitivity of these matters as the Staff strives to 1 Transcript of Pre-Hearing Conference (July 30, 2024), at Tr. 246.
