Dear Dr. Piefer:

This letter is to inform you that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has completed the safety evaluation report (SER) for the SHINE Medical Radioisotope Production Facility operating license application, which was submitted to the NRC by letter dated July 17, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML19211C044).

The enclosed copy of the SER is being provided to SHINE Technologies, LLC for its information. The SER has also been placed in the NRCs public document room and has been made publicly available in the NRCs ADAMS under Accession No. ML23047A025. The NRC staffs issuance of this SER does not constitute a commitment to issue the operating license.
