[External_Sender] Hermes Test Reactor I am a resident of Oak Ridge, Tn, 74 years old and would like to add my comments on the proposed Hermes test reactor proposed for the old K-25 site.

At a time when energy prices have skyrocketed and there is much debate over all aspects of energy and what we need, don't need, and all the surrounding noise it only makes sense that we make use of all kinds of energy sources.

I worked at ORNL for 31 years, not a scientist by any means, but I remember when a test reactor was proposed just up the road from K-25 and a lot of money was spent on site preparation before the project was cancelled for what I consider questionable reasons.

The potential for nuclear power to supply a great percentage of our power needs has always existed but fear and media coverage (Three Mile Island) and no one even mentions nuclear power and many European Nations are abandoning nuclear completely, and they have access to fewer power source options than the US.

The ability to show and prove to the public that nuclear reactor power generation is possible in a safe, cost effective, and least effect on climate issues is long overdue and is something that has long been overlooked for too many decades.

I fully support the building and operation of this proposed facility and hope to see the knowledge gained from this project be put to use in the hopefully near future.
