DearSirs:

Subject:

PaloVerdeNuclear Generating Station Units 1,2,and3 License Nos.NPF-41,NPF-51 and NPF-74 Docket Nos.STN 50-528,50-529, 50-530 EmergencyCoreCooling System Performance Evaluation Models, 10 CFR50.46(a)(3)(ii) Annual Report for2020 Pursuant to10CFR50.46(a)(3)(ii), Arizona PublicService Company (APS) is providing a summaryofthecumulative effects on calculated peak cladding temperature (PCT)for thePalo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS) dueto changes orerrors inemergency core cooling systemperformance evaluation models (EM).

During calendar year(CY) 2020there werenonewchanges to,orerrors discovered in,theWestinghouse large break lossofcoolant accident (LBLOCA) 1999EM, which isa 10CFRPart 50,Appendix K,EM.There weretwominor errors discovered in the application oftheFramatome LBLOCA EMF-2103, Revision 3,EMfor Unit 2,which is a realistic theabsolute (or bestestimate magnitudes plus uncertainty) ofAPCTassessments, EM. However, for all thecumulative changes anderrors sum of identified since performance oftheWestinghouse andFramatome LBLOCAanalyses was0 0F throughout CY2020for allthree PVNGSunits.

There werenochanges orerrors that affected PCTinthesmall break LOCA calculations forPVNGSUnits 1,2,and3 for CY2020. Additionally, because PCTis notcalculated aspartofthepost-LOCA long-term cooling (LTC) analysis, there are nochanges orerrors intheLTCmodels that affect PCT.

Theenclosure provides a moredetailed discussion oftheabsolute PCTeffects inthe evaluation models forpressurized waterreactors ECCSperformance analyses inCY 2020forPVNGS.
