Elimination of Dynamic Effects of Postulated Primary Loop Pipo Ruptures From Desir,n Basis for Trojan Nuclear Plant By letter dated August 4,1987, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Staff requested that Portland Concral Electric (PGE) provide additional information regarding the elimination of dynamic offects of postulated primary loop pipe ruptures from the design basis for Trojan. It was requested that this information be provided within 30 days from receipt of the letter, or a schedule to provide this information be submitted within 15 days.
PCE has reviewed your request and determined that additional time will be required to evaluato and adequately address cach item included in the onclosure to your letter. In addition, in order to ensure an adequate response to your concerns, PGE requests a telephone discussion with the technical reviewers prior to proceeding with our evaluations. Arrangements for the telephone call will be coordinated via the NRC Project Manager for Trojan.
Accordingly, we plan to submit a detailed response to the twelvo (12) items listed in the enclosure to your August 4, 1987 letter by December 31, 1987.
