SUBJECT:
REGIONAL PROCEDURE 0514A " PLANT SPECIFIC BACKFIT" Several weeks ago you called me inquiring about how the Region III office implemented the reporting requirements contained in the memorandum from V. Stello, Jr., dated February 24, 1987, regarding " Safety Goal Implementation. I have attempted to contact you on several occasions to provide the requested information, but these efforts have been unsuccessful.
At the time you contacted me, an action item had been generated and assigned to a Region III Branch Chief to assure incorporation of those reporting requirements into our Regional Procedures. A revision to Regional Procedure 0514, " Plant Spet.ific Backfit," had been drafted and was in the approval process. That procedure revision was issued to the Region III staff on June 24, 1987, and is enclosed for your information.
