Your memorandum of June 10, 1987, concurring in the proposed resolution of )
Generic Issue 93, suggested that the draft generic letter be revised to delete l the p sragraph permitting a relaxation in the check valve'backleakage l monitoring frequency. We concur in the letter as revised. I l
l We also wish to repeat cur original request that inspection modules be mcdified l to include monitoring of AFWS backleakage and that project managers ensure that the annual FSAR ppdates include documentation of any added AFWS backleakage monitoring systems. -
It was also indicated that the modified generic letter be forwarded as part of the CRGR submittal to close out the issue. As we have discussed with your staff, the generic letter is informational in character and the resolution of the issue involves no new requirements; CRGR considerat'on is not necessary.
Accordingly, this issue is resolved and only the issuance of the letter by NRR to licensees and applicants is needed to implement the resolution of the issue.
