Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 Inspection Report 50-334/88-02 Gentlemen:
By. letter dated May 13, 1988, Duquesne Light Company provided a
reply to address the Notice of Deviation which was included with NRC Inspection Report 50-334/88-02.
The Notice of Deviation stated that when the Beaver Valley Unit 1 Emergency Operating
. Procedures (EOPs) were upgraded per Generic Letter 82-33 requirements, many of the EOPs did not adhere to-the guidelines of the'NRC approved Procedures Generation Package (PGP).
In our reply, we committed to address the identified concerns in accordance with our existing schedule for the revision of_the Unit 1 EOPs.
An action plan was provided, along with target dates for addressing specific problem areas.
All tasks were expected to be completed by March 31, 1989.
This effort has taken longer than originally anticipated, therefore, our action plan schedule has been revised.
All action plan tasks are now scheduled to be completed for both Unit 1 and Unit 2
EOPs prior to the return to service of Unit 2 from its first refueling outage.
This is expected to occur during May, 1989.
The revised EOPs for both units will be in use at that time.
Our need for additional time to complete our actions has previously been discussed with our Senior Resident Inspector.
This submittal provides formal notification of our revised completion date.
