CONCERNS REGARDING MAIN STEAM ISOLATION VALVE HYDRAULIC FLUID This refers to your letter dated December 6,1986 and our telephone conversation 3
on November 11, 1986 in which you expressed concerns related to Main Steam
[
Isolation Valve (MSIV) hydraulic fluid, main condenser tube installation, and E
previously resolved concerns about diesel generator fuel line flange bolting torque practices at Nine Mile Point Unit 2.
We have initiated actions to examine the facts and circumstances of your concern about MSIV hydraulic fluid and you will be informed of our findings.
Based on our telephone conversation we plan no further action en your concerns about condenser tubes or previously resolved concerns.
In closing, let me assure you that every effort will be made to resolve your concerns. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has been given the mandate I
to protect the public health and safety, the environment, and assuring industry conformance to regulatory requirements We engage in major efforts on a daily basis to ensure that we fulfill our mandate.
