~ STORAGE OF PLLfr0NIUM WASTES AT T
LICENSEDFACILITIES(AITSN0.H00844F5) n t
In response to your request of July 11, 1975, the volume of plutonium waste at Group I facilities in Region V was as follows on August 26, 1975:
,s.
Exxon Nuclear Company 33 55-gallon drums General Electric Company, Vallecttos 7 SS-gallon drums Atomics International - Santa Susana 2 55-gallon drums The volume of waste at each facility is less than a truck load.
Exxon plans to dispose of the Pu waste within the next two months.
Fu waste storage areas have not been inspected receretly for fire safety.
However, we will include fire safety considerations in our next safety inspections at the Group I facilities. Since Exxon is the principal i
j generator of plutonium wastes in Region V, we will obtain the assistance of Mr. Dave Hotely for that inspection, if he is available.
