Gooden. (pgs. 62-64 of N&D 12346A) provides the test values for determining the plot co-ordinates for test run number 2 previously transmitted to you under 2NRC-7-085 dated April 16, 1987. explains how the minimum operating point for pump head was deter-mined for the fuel pool cooling pump to support safety analysis. Attachment 3 is a revised page 2 to the fuel pool cooling pumps PVORT Long Form.

This page has been updated to show the system normal and system accident head to be 40 feet.

l ATTACHMENT 2 DETERMINATION OF REQUIRED PUMP HEAD FUEL POOL COOLING PUMPS Based on calculation 12241-211-N-331 the system resistance for one pump operat-ing intersects the pump curve at 930 gpm at 62 ft.

Since the minimum flow requirement for the fuel pool cooling system is 750 gpm (Reference 12241-211-N-531 and the fuel pool heat exchanger spec sheet) the system operating point will be 750 gpm at 40 ft.

The 40 feet is the pump total head required to provide to the fuel pool cooling heat exchanger the design flow rate of 750 gpm.
