SUMMARY
OF MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 4, 1977 TO DISCUSS THE DIABLO CANYON SEISHIC DESIGN REEVALUATION We met with the applicant and its consultants on February 4.1977 to discuss the Diablo Canyon Seismic design reevaluation. A list of attendees is provided in Enclosure No. 1.
PG&E was conducting a reevaluation of the seismic capabilities of Diablo Canyon as had been requested by the NRC staff ir. Supplements 4 and 5 to the Safety Evaluation Report. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a number of the methods and criteria that PG&E was proposing to use in the reevaluation.
PG&E presented a specification that described the methods and criteria proposed for use in reevaluating the major structures. These proposals

were discussed and various changes were made to the specification during the meeting. At the conclusion of the meeting we indicated to PG&E that the proposed methods and criteria, as changed during the meeting, would be acceptable to the NRC staff. reflects the staff's understanding of the methods and criteria that were agreed upon.
"The-specification discussed above dealt only with the major structures.
l PG&E indicated that additional specifications, describing the criteria to be used for equipment, tanks, piping, etc. would be provided in the near future.
In addition, PG&E was working on responses to coments and questions from consultants to the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards.
