ALLEGATIONS 4-84-A-102 AND 4-85-A-02 1

This provides updating informat'on on both allegations. These allega'tions concerned drug abuse at River Bend.

River Bend has completed the initial screening of site employees. Some 420 people were tested. Of the test group, 9 positive results were obtained, although some of these were in the questionable range.

Mr. J. Deddens of GSU has advised that all nine " positions" will be counselled and retested on a periodic but unannounced basis. One of the questionable positive results was t subject of the anonymous allegation 4-85-A-02. Since' may be up for a reexamination for an operator license, we are following his testing closely.

I am drafting a separate letter to the alleger in '4 4-84-A-101. Although we are still'Tollowing the@ermath of this allegation, I believe we can close out concerns.
