Plant Name Diablo Canyon Court Decision on Spent Fuel Pool Expansion On July 2,1986, the U.S. Court of Appeals in San Francisco, responding to a motion for a stay by intervenors, issued an order regarding the Diablo Canyon spent fuel pool reracking. The Court ordered that PG&E may proceed, at its own M sk, with the reracking of the Un't 1 pool (intervenors had requested a stay) but shall not store any spent fuel in the pool without Court approval. The Court further ordered that PG&E shall not comence with the reracking of the Unit 2 pool without Court approval. A hearing on this matter will be scheduled for August 1986. PG&E expects to shutdown Unit I for the first refueling in late August /early September.
