DIABLO CANYON PROTEST DEMONSTRATIONS l
OGC and the Appeal Board have been contacted by the California State Attorney General's Office and the San Luis Obispo sheriff's office regarding anticipated demonstrations protesting the licensing of Diablo Canyon.
Local authorities expect up to 30,000 to 50,000 demonstrators to attempt a nonviolent blockade of the plant site if and when the NRC authorizes fuel leading and low power testing.
The Appeal Board's. upcoming physical security decision will probably trigger the protests.
State and local authorities requested advance notice to assist them in preparing for the demonstrations.
