,- Page 2 of 6 The folicwing report highlights the operating experience of Wolf Creek l Generating Station for the mcnth of January, 1988. 'Ihis report -is being provided pursuant to Technical Specificaticn 6.9.1.8.

I. SU41ARY OF OPERATItG EXPERIEtCE Criticality was achieved on January 1, ending the annual refueling cutage. After low power physics testing was ccmplete, the unit was sychronized with the grid on January 5. A normal post-refueling power ascension culminated with the unit at 130 percent pcwor on January 8.

A failure of the reactor vessel o-rings caused the unit to be shutdwn on January 21; with Mode 6, Refueling, being entered on January 25, for o-ring replacement.

II. MAJOR SAFETY RE1ATED MAINITNANCE ACTIVITIES

1. Replaced the diaphracyns on two Steam Generator Blowdcwn isolation valves.
2. Replaced the Reactor Vessel Level Indication System spool piece and fittings.
3. Replaced a px.enticmeter in cne power range Nuclear Instrumentation channel.
4. Replaced scme galled fittings on one Auxiliary Feedwater flow indicator.
5. Replaced a card in the Ers31 neered Safety Features Actuatico System.
6. . Replaced a card in a pressurizer pcwer operated relief valve controller.
