2.1 PURPOSE At40 SCOPE i

will be utilized to assure that the project civil activities comply wi th the speci fied requi rement s contained in References 1-A through 1-E.

The scope of the activities governed by tnis procedure include concrete preplacement, concrete production, concrete t

placement, concrete postplacement, cadwelding, grouting and structural steel installation.

These activities apply to safety related or seismic category I

structures or I

2.2 RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY' The Quali ty Control Supervi sor is responsible for the administration of the stated inspection activities. He has delegated authority to the QC Inspectors to implerent thi5 procedure and the requi rement s of Quali ty Instructions supplementing this procedure.

3.0 PROCEDURE 3.1 PERSONNEL TRAIN!NG Personnel perfaming.the stated inspection activities are trained in accordance with applicable codes and standards utilizing the provisions of Reference 1-F.

The training program provides assurance that proficiency in inspection perfomance is achieved and maintained.

3.2 INSPECTION DETAILS The inspection details fo r the specific civil activities i

are prescribed by documented Quality Instructions supplementing this procedure.

These instructions provide the inspector with the necessary criteria and direction for the perfomance of the inspection activities.

3.3 MEASURING AND TEST EQUIPMENT l

Measuring and test equi pment is raintained wi thin a calibration program and is controlled, calibrated, adjusted and maintained at prescribed intervals or prior to use to r

provide confidence in the validity of the resulting data.

l Reference 1-G defines responsibilities and basic requirenents for calibration.

j 3.4 STATUS INDICATORS l

l For each civil inspection activity, an inspection status indicator is utilized.

The status indicator is in the l

fom of a release document (concrete pour card, traveler, etc.) wnich provides the inspector with a status of the 1

work process for a particular civil activity.

When the j

inspector has verified tlat the work processes have been

. accomplished in accordance with all applicable requiments, he signs the release document for that portion of the work process.

i Quality Instructions detail the documentation required to be completed to provide objective evidence of cocpliance with specified Engineering / Construction criteria.

Tnese records shall be submitted to the Quality Contr01 Supervisor or his designee upon completion for review, processing and filing in accordance with CPSES requirements for "QA Records".
