Docket, Hearing From: Dorothy Nierman <106thea@gmail.com>

Sent: Tuesday, April 28, 2020 2:00 PM To: Docket, Hearing

Subject:

[External_Sender] Indian Point Decommissioning To Whom it May Concern, We live in Yorktown Heights, New York. We are aware of the decommissioning project at Indian Point. This adds to the concerns that we have had for years about this plant, effecting 50 million people in its range.

Holtec, the company chosen to do the project does not appear to be up to the job at hand. The materials chosen for the containment of materials are inadequate. Their lack of knowledge, or dismissive attitude towards, some environmental issues in the area affecting the plant, i.e., gas lines, fault lines, and standing radioactive water, are very disturbing.

Another issue is finances. Does Holted really have enough money to cover the long term project, including unforeseen issues that are inevitable in all such jobs?

The company appears to have ethical issues with several state governments. What about its integrity regarding the safety of its workers and the surrounding town inhabitants?

Decommissioning Indian Point is an enormous and dangerous undertaking. Every effort should be made to have the absolute best company engaged in this process, one that will be open to scrutiny by the local and state governments and the 50 million neighbors of the plant.

Therefore, I urge you to have a hearing regarding the license transfer. Hopefully, it will be one where the facts will actually be considered. Ive been to many NRC hearings which appeared to be held to fulfill the obligation of having a hearing, but where decisions had already been made. Please put your integrity and ethics to the test.

Sincerely, Paul and Dorothy Nierman Sent from my iPad 1
