SECTION 1.0 1.1 Description of proposed change, test, or experiment:
This change will allow monitoring of the jacket water temperature on the 1A Diesel Generator.
1.2 Reason for proposed change, test, or experimonct The data ecliected will be used to evaluate the offect o' jacket water stand pipe heater operation on jacket water temperature sensors during the various operational modes.
1.3 Does the proposed change involve a change to Technical Specifications?
Yes No.%
Explanation:
Temporary Modification TM-1-90-016 ovaluated the effect on the plant for removal of temperature switch 1-TSH-19111 and installation of a temporary RTD.
This change only involves the collection of data from the well topperature switch 1-TSH-19111 vas remov2d from.
This change will have no effect on the Diesel Generator 1A as described in Technical Specification 4.8.1.
Item 4 of Attachment 1 to the Vogtle Licence requires and air roll test.
The requirement statos "The engines shall be rolled over with the airstart system and with the cylinder stopcocks open prior to each planned start, unless the start occurs within 4 hours4.62963e-5 days
0.00111 hours
6.613757e-6 weeks
1.522e-6 months
of a l
shutdown..."
Prior to performance of this procedure the NCR must allow this requiremont to be waived for performance of this procedure.
A change to the Technical specification will not be required for l
performance of this test.
I' 1.4 Does the proposed change involve a change.n the facility as described in the FSAR?
Yes No_%
Explanation:
Temporary Modification TM-1-90-016 evaluated the removal of the temperature switch and installation of the RTD.
This chango involvos collecting-data from the RTD.
The RTD will measure jacket water temperature from the location temperature switch 1-TSH-19111 normally measures temperature.
Jacket water temperature instruments are described in c

This change will not create any additional modifications to the facility as described in the FSAR.
The Diesel will be operated within design operating parameters for the engine at all times.
1.5 Does the proposed chango involve a change in procedures as described in the FSAR?
Yes No_%
Explanation:
This change vill not involve a change to proceduros as described in FSAR Section 13.5.2.2 or 14.
This change will monitor jacket water tonporature with tecporary instrumentation.
This instrumentation will measure jacket water temperature at the same location and similar to permanent instrument 1-TS!!-19111.
this change will have no offect on procedurou as described in the FSAR.
1.6 Does the proposed change involve a test or experiment not described in the FSAR7 Yes No_X Explanation:
This procedure will operate Diesel Generator 1A in accordance with plant procedure 13145-c.
At no time will the Diesel Generator be operated outside it's design limitation.
The procedure described temporary instrumentation being used to monitor and record outlet jacket water temperature.
This instrumentation will monitor jacket water temperature at the same location as permarent instrument 1-TSH-19111.
The removal of 3-TSlf-19111 and installation of a temporary RTD has been evaluated on TM-1-90-016.
FSAR Sections 13.5.2.2 and 14 describe various test for the Diosol Generator.
This procedure will not require a change to the FSAR.
