SUMMARY

OF MEETING WITH JERSEY CENTRAL POWER & LIGHT COMPANY HELD ON JDECf.MBER 6, 1974 In our letter dated November 7,1974, we requested JCP&L' to amend the Technical Specification changes which they proposed in their May 31, 1974 letter to incorporate the requirement that the Rod Worth Minimizer (RWM) be operational for all startups. JCP&L 1

responded to this request in their letter of November 13, 1974 by' requesting a meeting with the staff to discuss this requirement.

The meeting to discuss RWM requirements was held December 6 1974

.As a result of-the discussions at the meeting, agreement was reached regarding an acceptable approach.. JCP&L will propose a change to the Technical. Specifications which would require that the RWM be in service for every startup except that once in any 12 month period it may be out of service.

JCP&L will also include;in its proposal; 4

requirements regarding use of the templatet -3 sed to restrict control rod selection alternatives. We agreed with this approach but would need to review and evaluate specific proposals.
