W ASHINGTON. D. C. 20555 March 6, l'975 Robert M. Lazo. Esq..
Chairman, Atomic Safety and Licensing Board U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C.
20555 In the Matter of Jersey Central Power & Light Company Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219
Dear Mr. Lazo:
This letter is intended to serve as a status report with respect to ongoing negotiations among the parties to the above-captioned pro-ceeding.
The parties are attempting to resolve those matters which have arisen either from Intervenors' Petition for Leave to Intervene or from the NRC Staff's Final Environmental Statement related to the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station.
I am pleased to inform you that an accommodation has been reached between.the Jersey Central Power & Light Company and the Intervenors which resolves those matters raised by the latter's Petition for Leave to Intervene.
Details of the agreement are being finalized.
A's a result of this. accommodation, it is Intervenors' intention to file,at an appropriate date in the future, a motion to withdraw from the proceeding.
In light of the accommodation and attempt to reconcile the interests of all the parties, discussions are continuing in order to cla'rify the license conditions involving related matters raised in the Staff's Final Environmental Statement.
The Staff anticipates that these clari-fications will be reached fairly soon. We will be prepared to present the results to the Licensing Board at a conference called for that
- purpose, i
Sincerely, j
