Oyster Creek Nucicar Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 Suppression Pool Dynamic Phenomena
Dear'bir. Lear:
The following is in response to your letter of April 17, 1975 which requested, pursuant to Section 50.54(f) of 10CFR Part 50, that information relative to the design of our containment be submitted to you. We have previously responded to your request with our \\tay 6,1975 letter which pro-vided a preliminary schedule for addressing the LOCA load concerns. Our blay 6,1975 letter was supplemented by our July 3,1975 letter which stated that the submittal of the information requested by your April 17 1ctter would be delayed for reasons discussed in a 1ctter from b1r.1. F. Stuart of General Electric to b!r. R. L. Tedesco of the NRC, dated June 13, 1975.
General Electric's letter of June 13 also suggested a meeting with your staff to discuss in detail the Short Term Program and the development of the details of the Long Term Program. That meeting was held on July 17, 1975.
As a result of that meeting, General Electric has prepared a blark 1 Con-tainment Status Report summarizing the Stark I Containment Short and Long Term Programs and providing the status of the work that was completed as of July 18, 1975.
This report was submitted to the NRC ty a letter from Str. I. F. Stuart to bir. A. Giambusso, dated July 31, 1975. This report updates a letter from Dr. G. L. Gyorey of General Electric to b!r. R.
- blaccary 'of the NRC, dated June 26, 1975, which provided information

concerning the work that General Electric had performed on the reference plant up.to that time.

We consider that the work completed by. July 16, 1975 by General Electric continues to show that reasonabic assurance ei.ists that the public health and safety will not be endangered during the Jyster Creek plant's continued operation while evaluation work continues.
As discussed with your staf,f on July 17, 1975, the Short Term Program is scheduled to be completed in September 1975.
At that time we will also be submitting our planned Long Term Program.
