' JERSEY CENTRAL POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY (0YSTER CREEK)-DOCKET 50-219 INSPECT 70N OF ALLEGATIONS OF RADIOLOGICAL VIOLATIONS On February 12, 1973, our Region I (Newark) Office received an anonymous letter alleging numerous instances of improper storage of radwaste, poor radiological housekeeping and unnecessary expo-sure of personnel to radiation 1n connection.with the operation-of the Oyster Creek reactor facility. A special. inspection was conducted by RO on February 13-16, during which many of these allegations were found to be substantive. The enclosed memoran-dum provides a general summary of the deficiencies identified during the inspection. A detailed inspection report is currently in preparation by Region I and will be forwarded to you shortly.
In view of the nature and number of the deficiencies identified, senior representatives from our Region.I Office met with Jersey Central. corporate management on March 1, 1973, to discuss the inspection findings. During the meeting Jersey Central stated that action had already been implemented to correct the specific identified deficiencies and that apprc
' ate managerial action was being taken to preclude a recurrerce.
Timely enforcement action is being taken with respect to all l
