Dear Hr. Grier:

Subject:

Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Decket No. 50-219 Health Physics Organization This letter is Intended to update and revise the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Health Physics organization that was originally discussed in my memo to you dated August 9. 1978. The realignment of the Health Physics group is based on r~ecommendations of our consultant and are a part of our Health Physics Program changes.

The propo[ed organization is attached for your Information.

Adjacent to each supervisory title is a list of some of the major responsibilities for which that position is accountable and is consistent with the program-changes currently being implemented.

This arrangement provides the Supervisor-Health Physics (Radiation Protection Manager in Regulatory Guide 8.8, Rev. 3) close contact with the Group Health Physics Supervisor responsible for the day-to-day in plant worker oriented portion of our program.

Also, in order to permit the Supervisor-Health Physics to be relieved of some past responsibilities, off-site emergency planning

and coordination will be provided by our home office statt, ano neaitn Pnysics training responsIDiiities will bc o=>umeo Dy the station training group with appropriate assignment of personnel to the training group to accomplish this function.

Finally, in order to ensure continued senior management attention to the station's Health Physics Program, a communication path is formn11v being recognized to the Manager-Generating Stations-Nuclear.

Members of my staff and our Health Physics Program consultant will be available to discuss this organizational realignment at your convenience.

Very truly yours,

$.A Ivan R. Finfr k, J.
