COMPONENTS TO BE COVERED BY CONSUMERS POWER'S QA MANUAL, TOPICAL REPORT CPC-1-A (MIDLAND UNITS 1 & 2) - A/I F30371H1 i
The attached memorandum deals with a QA program deficiency involving 1
Class 1E system components at the Midland site. This matter was also identified at the Callaway site, and we forwarded it to Region I (lead for SNUPPS) for action (memo dated 4/19/78, Spessard to Carlson, A/I F30366F1; copy attached).
l Although action on this matter by Region I is in progress, we have learned that NRR will be issuing round one questions relating to the l
FSAR to Consumers Power in the near future, and therefore, this matter, as related to Midland, needs prompt attention.
We request that you take the necessary action to have NRR evaluate this matter prior to their issuance of round one questions to the FSAR to this licensee. Region I was notified of our concerns regarding Midland, and they concur with our approach for getting them resolyed.
