Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 License No. NPF-13 File: 0260/L-835.0 Update Report - Division 2 Isolation Causes Loss of Shutdown Cooling LER 83-190/03 X-1 AECM-84/0167 This letter submits an update to a previous report submitted on January 13, 1984. The event for which the report was submitted occurred on December 14, 1983, while restoring Division 2 power following a planned maintenance outage, when a Division 2 isolation occurred causing a loss of Shutdown Cooling when pump suction valve F009 isolated. Other actuations included Reactor Water Cleanup isolation and Standby Cas Treatment B initiation. A Limiting Condition for Operation was entered pursuant to Technical Specification 3.4.9.2. The event was reported pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.1.13.b.

Our investigation into the cause of the event and corrective action to prevent recurrence is complete. Attached is LER 83-190/03 X-1 which is a final report.
