RES had originally informed us that they wwld not need ShtA technical asristence after this date because they would have a sep& rete contract in place fcr BRC work at that time. On January 24th, I cal 16d Don Hopkins (RES) to inquire about the

status of thic :aatter.

Don stated that their RFP for technical assistance has not yet bean issuad, and he would discuss this question with Bill Lahs and get back with me.

On January 25th, Don informed me that he had talked to Bill Lahs about this matter, and Mr. Lahs ir.dicated that there g be a need to maintain SNLA technical' assistance. Don indicated that Mr. Lahs will make some decison on this matter when he returns from vacation the week of February 6th.

I will keep you informed of developments in this area.
