This refers to your visit to the NRC resident of0ce at the Millstone Power Station on January 23,1991, and to your telephone conversation with Mr. Elmo Collins of this of0ce on February 15,1991, during which you claimed to have been harassed as a result of raising nuclear safety concerns.
We understand that your safety concerns included the existence of linear Oaw indications on safety related fasteners and whether or not the licensee had implemented a program :o deal with an employee who might not be mentally capable of making decisions. We also understand that these issues have been or are being resolved by the Nuclear Safety Concerns Program. Further you stated that you do not believe that these issues pose any immediate safety concern. Based on your characterizations, we intend no action on the above issues.
The NRC was established to regulate safety issues in the nuclear industry. Regarding your claim of harassment, the Department of Labor (DOL) has the authority to investigate your claim. In order to protect your rights, you must file with DOL within 30 days of the occurrence of the harassment or discrimination. Any such complaint can be filed with your local DOL office or:
The Office of Administration Wage and Hour Division U.S. Department of labor, Room 53502 200 Constitution Avenue, N.W.
Washington D.C. 20210 Your complaint must describe the firing or discrimination that you feel occurred. A copy of
