This is to revise the guicence providea in EGM b1-14 ano 81-14A, sane subject, cated May 4,1981 no October 5,1981, respectively, which oiscussed the enforcement options when processing a transportation case.
EGM 81-14 provided, anong other things, a schene for calculation of the civil penalty to be proposed 1
in such cases.
This schene is now obsolete anc has been replaced by the i
approach described in Table 1A of the the NRC Enforcenent Policy (10 CFR Part 2 Appendix C).
EGM 81-14A stated that the Regional Offices may issue Severity Level Ill-Notices

of Violation on theit an ono en internation copy should be forwarced to OE, formerly EI:IE.
In order to track such actions and'to maintain the policy of assitrir.cnt of EA numbers to all Severity level III violations or at,cVe, these cases should be called in to OE and an EA number assigocc.
Thereafter, if the g
facts conform to the conditions set forth ir. ECl4 81-14 and 81-14A, the Region may issue the package and send a copy ~to Director, OE after issuance with a note explainin5 'pplication cf the guidance in that case.
