This report was originally drafted in July 1980, following the completion of the activities' of the Nuclear Safety Task Force and was recently revised to delete proprietary material.

t The Nuclear Safety Task Force .was established following the February 26, 1980 transient at CR-3 to carefully review the experience gained during the

, event as well as information available ' from other sources. The goal of this investigation was to identify those areas that experiences to date .

indicate possess the greatest pr.ential for improvement in the safety and

~

reliability of CR-3. The Task Force made recommendations affecting many areas of the plant and its operation. f4any of the recomendations of the Task Force have already been implemented. Those that have not, have been evaluated by a new task. -force, the Nuclear Safety 14odifications Control Task Force. This new task force has assigned priorities to the remaining items and is periodically evaluating the progress being made toward comple-tion.
