J a October 21, 14510 Trojan Nuclear Plant Docket 50-344 License NPF-1 Mr. Darrell G. Eisenhut, Director Division of Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C.
20555
Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
Attached is a report on the Trojan Nuclear Plant Emergency Response Facilities which provides a description of the Technical Support Center (TSC), Emergency Operations Facility (EOF) and Safety Parameter Display System (SPDS) for the Trojan Nuclear Plant. This report is submitted in response to the NRC letter of September 5,1980 " Preliminary Clarification of TMI Action Plan Requirements", which requires licensee's submittal of the information and description of the Emergency Response Facilities by January 1, 1981.
Draf t report NUREG-0696 issued in August 1980 was considered in the design of Trojan Emergency Response Facilities where possible.
In this regard, the SPDS and TSC/ EOF instrumentation systems had already been procured and were in advanced stages of design and fabrication at the time draf t NUREG-0696 was issued in August 1980.
It is currently planned that the TSC and the EOF will be operational by April 1, 1982, and the SPDS by January 1, 1982.
Sincerely, NL..,
Bart D. Withers Vice President Nuclear c:
