FITZPATRICK NUCLEAR POWER PLANT DOCKET No. 50-333 ATTACHMENT TO LER 79-109/03L-0 Page 1 of I During normal operations, while conducting instrunent Surveillance Procedure F-ISP-27 titled "Drywell and Suppression Pool Temperature Instrument Calibration",

suppression chamber temperature recorder 27-TR-102 was found out of calibration in the non-conservative direction. During the surveillance that was being con-ducted to satisfy the requirements of Technical Specifications Appendix A, Table 4.2-6, the instrument was found reading approximately 2.5% low compared to a procedural limit of 1.3%. The redundant instrument measuring the same parameter was verified operable-therefore the event did not represent any significant hazard to the public health and safety.

Investigation revealed a failed printed ci rcui t board. Following replacement of the printed circuit board, the instrument was verified operable by satisfactory completion of F-ISP-27 on the same day as the failure was discovered.
